BukuKu UMKM is an Android bookkeeping app for business owners who are still recording transactions manually in a notebook, Excel, or just from memory. This project was built as an internal business system, not just a transaction logger, so owners can see their store's financial condition in real time from one place.

Project Goal

The main goal is to make business financial recording simpler, safer, and more automatic. Small businesses such as shops, laundries, catering services, and barbershops often lose momentum because their bookkeeping is messy. This app rebuilds that process into a clear flow: record a transaction, profit is calculated automatically, and reports are ready without extra manual work.

Problems Solved

• Daily transactions are often forgotten, so profit is never clearly calculated.
• Debts and receivables become messy and due dates are easily missed.
• Monthly reports are tedious to compile manually from scattered notes.
• Data can be lost completely if a phone breaks or a notebook is lost.
• There is no clean separation between payment methods (cash, transfer, QRIS, e-wallet).

Solution Built

The solution is an Android app with a home dashboard that immediately shows current profit, total income, and total expense for the running month, along with a summary chart. Every transaction is logged through a quick form with a numpad, category, and payment method, then automatically flows into profit calculation, reports, and transaction history.

Main App Flow

Main Features

• Quick Transaction Entry: enter an amount with a large numpad, add a note, and pick a date (Today or Yesterday shortcuts).
• Category & Payment Method: transactions are split by category (Capital, Sales) and payment method (Cash, Transfer, QRIS, E-wallet).
• Receipt Photo: every transaction can be attached with a receipt photo for documentation.
• Real-Time Automatic Profit: current profit updates instantly with every new transaction, no manual recap needed.
• Reports & Charts: margin, transaction count, best day, income vs expense comparison, and weekly trend.
• Debts & Receivables: track what you owe and what is owed to you, with due date reminders and a mark-as-paid button.
• Layered Security: user PIN and owner PIN to restrict access to sensitive data.
• Business Profile: store name, description, business category, notifications, cloud, and report export can all be managed directly in the app.

System Workflow

1. The business owner opens the app and immediately sees a summary of profit, income, and expense for the current month.
2. For every transaction, the owner taps the add button and chooses Income or Expense.
3. Amount, note, date, category, and payment method are filled in, optionally with a receipt photo.
4. The transaction is saved to history and instantly affects profit calculation and report charts.
5. Ongoing debts or receivables are logged separately with due date reminders.
6. By the end of the month, reports (margin, weekly trend, comparison) are already available and ready to export.

How to Use the App

Business Owner

1. Open the BukuKu UMKM app and set up the store profile (business name, description, category).
2. Tap the + button to record a new transaction.
3. Choose Income or Expense, enter the amount via numpad, then add a note.
4. Select a category (Capital/Sales) and payment method (Cash/Transfer/QRIS/E-wallet).
5. Attach a receipt photo if needed, then save the transaction.
6. Check the Reports tab to see margin, weekly trend, and monthly comparison.
7. Open the Debts tab to log debts or receivables and turn on reminders.

Staff / Cashier

1. Log in with the user PIN provided by the business owner.
2. Record daily transactions as sales or expenses occur.
3. Has no access to sensitive settings restricted by the owner PIN.
